Launched in 2021, mee noi creates detailed patchwork garments using recycled textiles. Each piece is hand and machine sewn at home, crafted individually, and made from textiles hand-picked from local thrift stores, antique shops and lovingly gifted by the community. Every design incorporates a love of the earth, multimedia folk handcraft, and practical work-wear design elements.
Born and raised in upstate NY, Yok Buehler’s first love was the expansive and varied natural world. With a strong passion for the aesthetic values of nature, a pursuit for the meaning of it soon followed. Much of their work is a thematic exploration of grief, transformation and regeneration. In their free time Yok enjoys handling plants and exploring tactile art mediums. Currently based in the Hudson Valley and Catskill mountains working as a flower farmer and self-taught sewist, Yok spends all day in the fields amongst the tall grasses.
